Just words

Words. So heavy. Yet so useless. Just words. They could mean as much or as little as the speaker may intend. But at the end of the day that's all they are. Empty. Whether promises made or feelings shared. They're just words. Nothing to back them up. No contractual obligation. Futile by themselves. Like dates. Which are just numbers. Stupid words.

And yet, they are as sharp as a sword, or can be as soft as a cotton ball putting balm on wounds. We must choose them carefully, and also probably learn to filter those that may hurt us. Words, language, etc are the cornerstones of the concept of immigration and settling of the rest of the world. For it was when a certain tribe in Africa learnt to communicate through some form of spoken language that a small gp of people ventured out of their jungle and area, to find more food and hence populated the world over thousands and thousands of years.
